Reporting to: Head of Operations
Responsible for: Warehouse, dispatch, control of stock.
Main Purpose
The logistics manager role is to organise the storage and distribution of goods.
You will ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. You will also be responsible for transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ensuring product/Raw materials are stored and dispatch in a safe, hygienic and legal manner. Communicating any deviations to process or product/ingredient.
- Warehousing: Ensure the onsite warehouse and storage is kept organised, clean, and tidy. Ensure both company and health and safety procedures are strictly adhered to. Management of offsite storage and dispatch.
- Dispatch: Ensure all customer orders are picked and delivered OTIF. This includes effectively cost managing the transport of goods. Performance will be tracked with a KPI. Liaise with sales team any discrepancies regarding sales orders.
- Stock management: Ensure all goods in and out of the company are transported safely and with accordance to the company’s traceability procedures. Management of stock within the company using good knowledge of the MRP system. Conduct stock reconciliations to ensure the MRP system is kept up to date and maximised. Use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs. Use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle. Work as part of an operational team to ensure materials are purchased and delivered onto the site to fulfil the production plan without overloading the warehouse. ‘Next step’ management of at-risk materials such as short life ingredients and MLOR stock/Overrun.
- Operations: As part of the operations team, you are required to help with continuous improvement projects within the factory. This may include data collection by building excel sheets from scratch.
- Meetings: Attend and contribute to weekly Operations and Sales meetings.
- Machinery Maintenance: Ensure the FLT and other mechanical aspects of the warehouse are kept serviced and in good working order.
- Staff Management: Manage of warehouse staff during busy periods ensuring work is carried out safely and in accordance with procedure. Manage warehouse staff disciplines, holidays, and absence using a Bradford report. Ensure other members of staff are trained in key areas to ensure the required Jobs can be fulfilled in your absence.
- Wastage: Ensure all waste is controlled and segregated into its correct locations. Ensure outside bins are not overloaded and are removed from site safely.
- Auditing: Ensure GMP throughout the warehouse area is maintained at a high standard. Ensure all procedures for goods in and out are performed. Assist the Technical manager with all traceability requests.
- KPI’s: Ensure OTIF and Warehouse/Dispatch KPIs are being achieved. Work towards improving/maintaining the KPI’s as set by the operations manager.
- Continuous Improvement: Always be thinking of ways to improve process and communication.
KPI’s/Objectives
